"We loved Ascot Cottage and will look back on our stay with fondness.
The resident possum was a great surprise, the birdlife was delightful and the gardens offered a lovely piece of paradise for meals and lazy reading.
Everything seemed to have been thought of and provided. We could easily walk a short distance to find something wonderful to entertain us- be it the scenery, a good coffee or a piece of local history. The bus stop was easy to get to and a day pass allowed us free movement at a bargain price! We had some wonderful walks- the Forts Walk was a highlight- unmatchable views and koalas! Hard to beat. We will be back :) Thanks Sue and Geoff for making our holiday a delight!"

"My Sister, my elderly Mother, 2 nephews and I stayed at Ascot Cottege this Easter just passed and it was fabulous. The home is quaint but spacious and totally affordable. The position is perfect located in the quiet end of the Island and easy walking distance to everything. I would highly recommend Ascot Cottege as a perfect little get a way place. The resident Possum is just gorgeous and the kids loved paying him attention not to mention the neighbourly Golden Retriever that would visit us each dinner".

"We enjoyed our stay at your place very much. We also did like your environmental way of thinking and tried our best to keep it that way too. I do hope that more people on Magnetic Island follow that road which would improve the look and feel".

"Had a most lovely, peaceful four night stay at your beautiful cottage here on Maggy Island. We were very impressed at the location and both the exterior and interior of Ascot Cottage. We felt very much at home.
The possum will want to join your BBQ!"

"Ascot Cottage is a welcoming site after our endless journey from Glasgow.
Tame possum and curlew a big hit with the children. The possum was named “Henry” and was taking food from our hands. The curlew was a bit more reserved. HENRY WAS AWSOME- EVAN MACPHEARSON.
Best bits- tubing in Horseshoe Bay with H>B Water Sports. Bungalow Bay Koala Village- Champagne breakfast. Man Friday in Nelly Bay to eat. The Forts Walk. Florence Bay beach".

"A quiet place – a chance to launch forth (to all manner of wonderful island experiences) and a chance to withdraw (and reflect). The perfect retreat within the perfect discovery and context. Thanks for the charming touches and the budget conscious pricing. Definitely a tucked away treasure".

"My family and I had the most relaxing time at this lovely little cottage, our boys were kept amused feeding the wildlife and opening coconuts they had found at the beach. Just a short stroll to the wharf where many hours past, fishing and watching the sunsets. A gorgeous island and we would love to return soon. P.S. not happy being back at work."

"What a lovely cottage! Lovingly restored with a beautiful garden. Quiet area of the island where the only noise is the birds. Outdoor eating area is large and private except for the possum family that comes to visit. We even had a koala living in the tree in the front yard!
Indoors, the cottage is well appointed with a large kitchen and sitting area and comfortable bedrooms. I love how the "feel" of the older cottage is blended with modern conveniences!
Truly a lovely place to stay and unwind . . . . but don't miss exploring the islands and snorkelling some of the lesser known beaches. Also, the Fort Walk is well worth it in the late afternoon when the koalas are starting to wake up".

"We all thoroughly fell in love with your beautiful Ascot Cottage, everything was just so comfortable and my hubby especially loved the stainless steel bench. We felt like it was our very own home and took the same pride in the cottage as we do in our own home. James my youngest absolutely loved all the resident animal life, especially the possums. We searched high and low in every gift shop on the island looking for a possum like the one on the cabinet in the cottage as James was desperate to find one, but we had no luck, maybe it could be a suggestion for the shops to look at stocking them for possum lovers. The weather was really lovely, with the heat coming in only in the last few days which reminded us what is to yet to come. The kids loved fishing off the jetty at Picnic Bay most of all. We also did the walk to the Forts which was really good, but next time I don’t think we will do it in the middle of the day!
Look forward to staying in the sweetest cottage on Magnetic Island again soon".

"What a hidden treasure. After surfing the net one is always dubious about places no one knows anything about. But alas we will be sharing this secret cottage with all our friends and family. As previously stated we could live here easily.
Thank you for the wonderful rest and rejuvenation".

"Seldom does reality outshine photos but on entering Ascot Cottage this was the case. Loved the kitchen. Finally got to work on a stainless steel benchtop and loved it. BBQ area was delightful and we spent most of our time there. Whoever was responsible for the little touches turns Ascot Cottage into more than just a rental home. Thought it was brilliant. Had a lovely holiday. Enjoyed your little piece of peace".

"I went holidaying with my my brother and his wife that came to from Ukraine for a holiday. They were in ore. They absolutely loved the accommodation and the island and so did I. It was so cosy and unique and comfortable that I would come back any day. I have recommended your place to a lot of my friends. We very much enjoyed our holiday and would come back without a doubt. Thank you very much for everything "

"Ascot Cottage exceeded all our expectations. We have stayed at a number of holiday homes but this was truly the best. We loved the house, the garden was spectacular, the birds incredible, the aspect of the dappled morning sunlight through the tropical garden into the bedroom was just gorgeous. The amenities were great and the location of the cottage just a short pleasant stroll from Picnic Bay beach and the bus etc terrific. We have been to Maggie twice now and will hopefully get back again next year. We just hope Ascot Cottage is still available. The weather in June was 27 everyday and beautiful sunshine. So coming from cold and wet Adelaide to this tropical island in winter was perfect. We swam and snorkelled most days and really soaked up the island life. West Point at sunset is well worth the long trip on a pot holed road for the light at the end! A stunning and relaxed holiday. (We hope we havent let the cat out of the bag!) 5/5

"Our family have had a lovely time staying at Ascot Cottage.
This place is a home away from home, so thanks for all the extra touches, it has made our stay very relaxing. The kids have had the time of their lives and their parents are now totally recharged and ready to face a new school year.
If we ever make it back Ascot Cottage will be the place to stay!
Thanks again

"Lovely spacious cottage with welcoming atmosphere. Surrounded by tranquil garden makes you feel you are in an oasis.
Very comfortable sleeping arrangements, well equiped cottage with every thing we needed.
Maybe an extension cord for workaholocs to plug in their laptop would be the only addition!
We stayed 3 days but could have done with 10 to really chill out & enjoy".

"We had a wonderful time in the Ascot lodge and would recommend it to all. From the time we arrived till when we left it was like some one had turned a switch and we were completely relaxed and comfortable.
The wonderful cottage with its early history and amazing tropical gardens made for an ideal location to just catch your breath and read a book or plan day outing to different locations on Magnetic island. The high light was the sun sets on West point.
Time went too quickly but we will be back soon.
Highly recommended".
